What should I do about my hereditary, purple, dark circles because it seems like nothing is working?
A patient Staff asked 4 years ago I’m not sure what to do because I am 26 with hereditary dark circles that have always been very visible since I was a child. I have had many treatments to improve them such as Restylane, Teosyal Redensity 2, PRP and recently nano fat. Although, in the pictures provided I still have dark circles and it seems like nothing is working. This is something that has always made me feel so anxious and insecure, especially due to comments by people in the past. What would you recommend?

Hi and thank you for your question! You indicated that you have done several treatments for your dark circles but you still have the dark circles, so I would like to know if you haven’t seen any results at all, or of you have achieved some improvements but you still need better results. Having some pictures that had been taken before all the treatments can also help tremendously to spot the points of improvement if any. Regardless and just by looking at your pictures, my recommendations would have normally been filler for under eyes. I have had many patients with similar concerns and most of them achieve nice improvements with a combination of filler under eyes (Volbella is my filler of choice there) and in the cheeks (preferably Voluma). I use cannula for injection and have developed a specific method of injection to restore volume in different layers for the most natural look. Again, since you said you have done filler in the past, it would be critical to see how much improvement you achieve with that in the past, assuming that the treatment was done properly. While it is hard to tell based on the pictures, there might be some additional darkening/bluish coloration due to filler being to close to the skin which needs to be assessed closely in person and revised a bit if that’s indeed the case. I highly recommend that you do a consultation with an experienced cosmetic physician for most accurate assessment and plan of action. I hope it helps and good luck!
