8 days post Juvederm Ultra Plus, I have puffiness above my lip border on both sides of top lips, will this go away?
A patient Staff asked 8 years ago I received juvederm ultra plus in my lips about 8 days ago. I still have some puffiness above the border of my lip that looks abnormal when I smile. Am I still experiencing swelling? My lips are also still a little sore, even at day 8. Brushing went away day 7.

Hi and thank you for your question! The swelling following filler is common and it might take up to two weeks to fully resolve. The key question here is: has the swelling remained like this since start or has it been going down gradually? If latter, then there shouldn’t be much concern. In either case and as long as there aren’t any other signs such as redness, tenderness, pain, etc I suggest allowing the full two week period to pass and then if you are still concerned, do a follow up with your physician. In case there was too much filler, it can be revised and dissolved at that time, but rushing to do adjustment at this time is not advised. I hope it helps and good luck!
