In September i went to new provider for botox brow life. 4 units each side. within a week i had mild ptosis on both eyes. 2 months later i was getting intermittently better ( ptosis came and went) but i was getting forehead wrinkles. i went to the provider i usually go to for browlift ( bc it works on forehead wrinkles somehow). one week later both my eyelids began to drop worse than the first time? Did i strengthen previous botox? this provider injected me regularly, never an issue. whats next?
Hi and thank you for your question! Medicine is never an exact science and the results patients get might vary each time. In your case, I wouldn’t be concerned just yet and you should probably be fine with future treatments. However, if you keep seeing this happening, you might want to consult a neurologist to rule out other medical causes for muscle weakness in the area. While rare, a patient with weakening muscles in that area due to some other issues (e.g. undiagnosed Myastenia Gravis) can see over-reaction to Botox dose that wouldn’t have caused any issues before. Again, this is very rare and what you see is most likely just a incidental reaction, so you shouldn’t worry about it yet, but it’s something to consider if you see it happening. I hope it helps and good luck!
