I read here a DR saying Radiesse can kill facial fat cells. He said it promotes collagen growth; it has a lifting effect, but it also kills the underlying fat, because fat cells are fragile to any sort pressure and, as such, are more likely to atrophy during periods of compression than would other tissues. Is this true? I had facial fat transfer 1 month ago, and until get its full effect, I was going to enhance my cheeks with 1 vial of Radiesse, but now I’m scare of using Radiesse ever again.
Hi and thank you for your question! Radiesse is an excellent filler at right hand and for the right place and it is not expected to have any negative effects on fat cells. If you just had fat cell transfer, the tissue is still healing and it will be more sensitive during the first few weeks as it settles in and adequate blood supply is established. Hence, it is not recommend to do any filler treatment in that area when the healing process is not completed. If the filler is being injected to the same area that had fat transfer, you need to allow more time to make sure the healing is completed. If the area is unrelated, then there should be no restriction. I hope it helps and good luck!
