Could you have a mild allergic reaction to Botox but not to Dysport?
A patient Staff asked 7 years ago I moved and changed three different injectors for Botox browlift and all the three times I got mildly swollen upper eyelids and no browlift. It looks as if my eyebrows drooped. My former injector used Dysport and i never had swollen upper eyelids. Is this due to injection technique or could i have a mild reaction to botox?

Hi and thank you for your question! Assuming that the reaction you have been seeing is allergic in nature, it is possible to have allergy to botox but not to Dysport (or vice versa). While Botox, Dysport and Xeomin share similar active ingredient (still with some individual modifications), each medication is produced by different manufacturer and contains different other components, preservatives, etc and each of those components can possibly result in allergic reaction. Hence a patient can suffer an allergic reaction to one of these medication but has no allergic reaction to two others. I hope it helps and good luck!
