Does SculpSure internally destroy the fat cells therefore creating the same permanent body sculpting effect that liposuction achieves? If I SculpSure my lower abdomen and 6 months later I gain 15lbs will the new weight show up in other places besides my lower abdomen, because the SculpSure treatment destroyed the fat cells in that area?
Hi and thank you for your question! The simple answer to your question is that SculpSure works by causing death (Apoptosis) of the fat cells in the treated areas, and any fat cells that is destroyed is destroyed for good and won’t come back. However, you need to put this in context to make sure the expectations are realistic. First and foremost, while SculpSure kills the fat cells, it doesn’t kill ALL the fat cells and some will invariably survive and remain in the treated area. Hence, if you gain significant weight down the road, some of it will certainly be deposited in the treated areas and you will have some setback. While I do not perform liposuctions, I am pretty sure the same is also true for liposuction as some fat tissue will remain in the treated area and the fat will start to accumulate back in case of significant weight gain. I hope it helps and good luck!
