As I have aged, I’ve noticed some shadowing under my eyes. An injector I have been to couple of times told me filler under my eyes wouldn’t help because I didn’t have “hollowing” and she put filler in my upper cheeks instead. I had under eye filler a few years ago and remember really liking the result, but then had to get some removed because of the “tyndall” effect user my left eye.
Hi and thank you for your question! It is hard to tell based on the pictures, but in general, doing fillers both in the cheeks and under the eyes is a reasonable approach to create a more natural look, but of course it all comes down to the skill and experience of your injector. I am a big advocate of both cheek and under eye fillers, but having Tyndall effect once (which might be due to injections being a bit too superficial) should not prevent you from doing more fillers under the eyes in future. Also, keep in mind that while hyaluronic acid filler tend to last somewhat longer under eyes, they still undergo degradation over time and hence they need to be replenished from time to time. I cannot speak about your past/current injector, since I haven’t seen your detailed before/after pictures and the treatment records and I refrain from making assumptions, but given the sensitive nature of these injections and great skills needed for most natural looking results, I highly recommend that you work with a highly experienced injector for best results. I hope it helps and good luck!
