I was having a procedure done in hospital so the nurse put lidocaine on skin before IV was put in. My skin got red and itched and inflamed told her must be allergic she said no one is allergic to lidocaine. Told the anesthesiologist he said your probably allergic to the preservatives in lidocaine, I will inject you with both while your under and see. He was right. My question is can I still get fillers? I have been reading up and a lot of them have lidocaine in them.
Hi and thank you for your question! Liquid Facelift is performed using a combination of fillers determined by your physician and in case of allergy to lidocaine, lidocaine-free fillers are available and can be used. Given that allergy might also be present to topical numbing creams, your doctor can use alternative methods to reduce discomfort during the procedure (e.g. local vibrating devices, use of icing, and my favorite approach: use of micro-cannula which allow us to perform many injections through just one point of entry). I hope it helps and good luck!
