Is Allergan botullium toxin type a, a respectable type of Botox to use? Can it go out of date?
A patient Staff asked 8 years ago The clinic I am going to showed me the pictures below but I have noticed the date is out of date, how important is this? Or would there be a reason that it has a different date on it? It was also cold, as it has come out of the fridge.

Hi and thank you for your question! Botox (in its unprepared power form as well as dissolved liquid form) should be kept refrigerated, so the cold temperature of the vial is absolutely a good thing. The date hand written on the vial could be the date they dissolved the Botox and prepared it for injection but we cannot be 100% sure and you should ask your clinic to ensure. There should be another expiration date printed on the vial by the manufacturer which is the main expiration date of the Botox vial and that date should not have been passed at the time of your injection.
