What are the consequences of treating the same area twice? I believe this happened to the left side of my upper abdomen
A patient Staff asked 8 years ago I had a sculpsure treatment on the abdominal area – 5 pads. 3 pads on the lower abdomen and 2 on the upper. I took a break between the two cycles hence the mistake.The left upper abdomen is quite sore and I feel a nodule developing under the skin which I know is normal but the right side feels like I have had no treatment. There is a 50% chance my left side was treated twice and I’m absolutely freaking out because I don’t know what are the potential consequences of this issue….

Hi and thank you for your question! I wasn’t sure if I understood correctly – whether you had the same areas treated in two separate treatment sessions or treated twice at the same visit. There shouldn’t be any concern with the former case as we commonly recommend patients to treat the same area 2-3 time for optimal results (with treatments spaced 6 weeks apart). If you had the same area treated twice at the same visit by mistake, I still don’t think you will suffer any long lasting consequences, but to be on safe side, I recommend doing follow ups with your physician for an accurate assessment.
