I’m on my 6th treat of vitrase. I had two syringes places in and around my cheeks and eyes January 2017. I’ve decided do to looking odd after to have it dissolved. I’m on my 6th treatment of vitrase, will this stuff ever go away. Or is the doctor just sucking me dry. I’ve spent almost 1100.00 trying to dissolve this crap. I’m in Arizona. Can anyone help me? Does it really take 6 maybe more treatments to dissolve this stuff?
Hi and thank you for your question! Voluma is often praised for being a longer-lasting hyaluronic acid filler and it’s an excellent filler for cheeks and some other areas in face. Being based on hyaluronic acid, it will eventually go away with injection of hyaluronidase but as it is more resilient, more injections and/or larger doses of enzyme might be needed although 6 rounds of injection appears a bit high and it raises the question whether you really have much Voluma left there or could it be other issues. Also, there are doctors who prefer to inject larger doses at once, and those who prefer to go in smaller steps to have more control over it and avoid removing too much and I personally prefer the latter approach. Also, while I am not aware of differences in enzymatic activity between the two commonly available forms of hyaluronidase (Vitrase and recombinant Hylenex), I personally only use Hylenex as it’s a safer product in terms of allergic reactions. I hope it helps and good luck!
