Would a cheek filler, such as Voluma, reduce the appearance of heavy jowls for a 23 year old?
A patient Staff asked 8 years ago I recently went to a consultation with my surgeon of choice, however, they did not recommend that I try out fillers because of my age (lots of soft tissues remaining). They said I’d be wasting my money; and the difference would not be significant. Though I respect the surgeons opinion, I wanted more opinions still. Also, how many syringes would be needed to strengthen my cheekbones to elevate the sagging skin as it makes me look older. Thanks!

Hi and thank you for your question! In theory, Voluma injection in the cheeks can generate a nice lift to pull up areas such as nasolabial folds and jowls and this is one of the strategies I commonly use in carefully selected patients. However, it is hard to tell without seeing you in person as you seem to have nice and prominent cheeks. You may want to have another consultation with an experienced cosmetic doctor to see if other approaches such as jaw slimming with Botox might help you achieve better results.
