Can I get filler in my lips dissolved because of bumps?
A patient Staff asked 7 years ago I am scared to smile 1 month po lip filler. I’m scared to smile 1 month after getting lip injections because the bumps are so apparent. I’ve tried massaging them. I asked if it was the brand of filler or because I had an np do it and I was told it was the technique. My lips don’t look bigger, they just look bumpy. 1 syringe was used. Can I get them dissolved? Unsure of what to do.

Hi and thank you for your question! Whether the filler in your lips can be dissolved depends on the type of filler used. If it was hyaluronic acid-based (I hope, as that’s the only type of filler recommended for lips), then it can be easily dissolved with injection of hyaluronidase. Please check with your injector and verify the exact name of the filler used. Examples of hyaluronic acid fillers commonly used in lips includes members of Juvederm family (Ultra Plus, Volbella, Volume) and Restylane family (Restylane Lyft) and all these can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if needed.
