What are my options if Juvederm Ultra XC doesn’t last in my lips?
A patient Staff asked 6 years ago I’ve gotten Juvederm ultra xc injected 4 times Into my lips since the end of last October, a full syringe each time. Once in Oct, Feb, May, and most recently the end of July. My body tears right through it! It just will not last! This is getting ridiculous. Help!

Hi and thank you for your question! Juvederm Ultra is among the shorter-lasting fillers although your experience is still quite unique and whenever there is a concern with treatment results not lasting long, objective comparison of pictures taken before and after the treatment versus current pictures is a must. Regardless, the longest-lasting filler we use in the US for lips is Voluma and you are likely to see longer-lasting results from it. You can also try other fillers such as Restylane family although they are all based on hyaluronic acid and all susceptible to naturally-occurring hyaluronidase enzyme in the body that gradually breaks them down. Please avoid fillers that are not based on hyaluronic acid for your lips as they often lead to issues down the road. I hope it helps and good luck!
