Will losing weight after getting PRP Injections under the eyes affect the result and cause distortion in the under eye area?
A patient Staff asked 4 years ago I am on a fitness regimen but want to get prp injections for under eye hollows and hereditary darkness. Is it ok to do this while I’m still losing weight?

Hi and thank you for your question! PRP injection is believed to work by providing growth factors that can stimulate skin rejuvenation and it does not impact the fat pads which might be affected when you lose weight. Hence, while weight loss might show on your face anyway and regardless of the PRP, it is not expected to be worsen or negatively impacted by prior PRP and if anything, PRP might even help with reducing the negative impact of weight loss. This all being said, I usually recommend to my patients to try to complete their weight loss plan first and once they reach their weight loss goal and their face and body is not changing much any more, then do a new consultation and decide on the next step with regards to their face rejuvenation.
