Will my lips be pretty ever again post dissolving filler? How can I resolve the look of my lips?
A patient Staff asked 4 years ago Over the last 6 years I had 2ml year one and 6 monthly 0.5 tip ups. My very experienced injector recommended dissolving due to migration. I waited 2 weeks post dissolving and then had 1ml. It is now 2 weeks post refill and I am very unhappy and self conscious (understatement) about my lips appearance. How can I resolve the look of my lips? There appears to be an issue with the structure and definition around the lips now. Is this common? Thank you so much

Hi and thank you for your question. I am sorry to hear about your concerns. You didn’t specify that filler yo got, but since you mentioned dissolving it, I assume it is a hyaluronic acid (HA) filler. The advantage of HA fillers is that they can be easily dissolved and revised if needed. Also, HA naturally wears off and goes away in its own once injected in body. In your case, while I understand that satisfaction is a subjective matter, I do think that your lips look beautiful, but if you would like to do any revisions (more dissolving and refill), my advice is to do it very conservatively and in baby steps to make sure you are staying comfortable with the progress and results. I am assuming that you are working with an experienced physician for the injections, so as long as you are not rushing for revisions, I think you will be fine!
