How long does a facial fillers last in the face?
A patient asked 7 years ago I had a filler injected to my face over 5 months ago and since then I haven’t been happy with my face as my face looks swollen and fatter cheeks, how long more before the fillers starts to disappear, I was told by the physician who injection it that it would last for 2 years.

Hi and thank you for your question! The longevity of filler in face is primarily dependent on the type of filler and it can range from 6 months to 2 years for commonly used hyaluronic acid fillers. Assuming that you got Voluma, it is generally expected to last up to 2 years although individual results may vary. Regardless, one of the advantages of hyaluronic acid fillers such as Voluma is that we can easily revise or dissolve them with enzyme injection and if you are not happy with the results, you don't have to wait for the filler to go away on its own and it can be dissolved by your doctor if needed.
