Dysport or Botox ?

Hi and thank you for sharing your question here! Both Botox and Dysport are safe and effective and they share the same or similar active ingredient. Both are FDA-approved and the technique of the injection and location of the injection are the same. However, their dosing is different and it should not be mixed up. With the exception of one study which received some controversies over its funding, there is no head to head study that shows which one is better. Nonetheless, the result can vary from patient to patient and one might work slightly better in some or last a bit longer in some patients than the other, while some patients might experience similar results from either one. Unfortunately there is no sure way to figure out which scenario will be the case for a new patient who hasn't tried either one and the only way is to try one or the other and see the results. If the results are good, then there is really no need to switch and you can continue with the same product. Then in future if you start to notice that the results are not as good as before (and that's a possibility with long-term use of Botox and Dysport), then you can switch to the other product and hopefully you will be back on track! Having said this, quite honestly I believe that what really makes the difference not one product or the other, but the skill and experience of your injector! I hope it helps and good luck!
