Any treatment for my dark circles?
A patient asked 3 years ago I've had dark circles for several years now and haven't really been able to find anything that reduces their appearance much. I've tried some peels, IPL, and even some minor microneedling in the area, but haven't noticed much difference. I'm interested in hearing of any potential options that may exist to address them.

Hi and thank you for your question! The treatment for dark circles really depends on the underlying cause. If it is caused by congestion or actual skin darkening, treatments that affect pigmentation such as peels or IPL might help. However if the root cause is volume loss that creates a shadow, then your best bet is to do volume restoration with fillers that can greatly help. You can try for yourself to see if by shining light upward on your face, the appearance of dark circles is reduced or not. If they look better, then it you will be likely to see improvements with fillers under the eyes.
