Pricing of Dysport/Botox. How do they justify charging the same per unit for 2 totally different products?

I can not understand, when making an inquiry about Botox and or Dysport pricing, I was told $12 per unit for either or. It s my understanding that Dysport is a neurotoxin similar to Botox but cannot be directly compared in terms of units. 3 to 4 units of Dysport equals one unit of Botox, in general. So HOW do they justify charging the same per unit for 2 totally different products? I typically get Dysport, and with this pricing, would cost a small fortune!

Cost of Botox vs. Dysport

Hi and thank you for your question! I cannot say much about the pricing structure of other practices as this is determined and set by each practice. However, from a functional and efficacy point of view and if reconstituted in the standard way, 20 units of Botox is generally equivalent to around 50 units of Dysport and hence, the pricing should generally reflect the same ratio as well. I hope it helps and good luck!
